Wheatheart Nutrition serving lunch at
the Ponca City Senior Center
The Wheatheart Nutrition Program provides nutritious meals for
those 60 and older and a small donation is asked. Reservations are required
the day before so that the number of meals needed can be ordered. For menu
information or to make a reservation please call (580) 767-1620. The meals
are prepared at the Blackwell Wheatheart Nutrition site and are bused to the
Ponca City site. Blackwell cooks approximately 400 to 500 meals per day for
Kay County and Medford. Ponca City Wheatheart serves 85 to 100 home
delivered meals. Menus are created by a local Nutritionist and then they are
approved by the State Nutritionist in Oklahoma City. Meals meet the National
nutritional guidelines. The Wheatheart Nutrition Program is funded by NODA,
Area Agency on Aging.
Volunteers are needed to deliver noon meals to
the elderly homebound.
