PONCA CITY ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL

Description of the Program

Ponca City Alternative School is an RSVP Program with a mission to help contain operating costs for the school with the use of volunteers who can perform basic office clerical tasks, help students with emotional and learning difficulties better comprehend reading assignments, or help with standardized test monitoring.

Purpose/Need for the Program

The Alternative School represents what may be the last chance for teenagers who have failed to succeed in the public school system.  The alternative for many of these troubled youth is a life of very limited job opportunities or even drifting into crime with possible incarceration.
